  I have been a long term customer of Earls, having been to most of the Calgary locations as well as several locations across Canada as Earls is one of my favourite restaurants. With that being said, tonight caused some issues for my dad and I when we were visiting this location tonight. Your hostess who was there, blonde, petite, had fab make up but she did not look too pleased to see us, and nor did she seem too happy to walk us to the dining room area after we'd changed our minds about sitting in the bar. Her attitude came across as apathetic and borderline hostile. Our server, Calvin, who we learned was a server for four years, made every single rookie mistake imaginable. For our lettuce wraps, he gave us soaking wet plates. Clean, yes, but they were wet. He reached across tables, through glasses that still had drinks in them, to get our plates. His style of service was clueless and obnoxious and it was a shock to hear that after four years, he was making mistakes that would cause other waiters to lose their jobs. My dad had the dry ribs, which were okay but the extra salt and pepper was too much. I had the chili chicken w/ wontons rice bowl, and the rice was undercooked. I am not looking for a refund, not looking to cause trouble, but what I witnessed tonight was not the standard of professionalism and excellent service I have come to expect from Earls. Food was good, but the downright awful service was what warranted a 1 star review from me. I don't care if the Flames are no longer in the playoffs or if it's towards the end of the night, you put your game faces on and show some god damn professionalism.

  4 stars for tonight because the waiter was really good. Had a young gentlemen who took a lot of time to make sure allergies wouldn't cause any problems. Would have lost more stars because the burger was tasteless except for mustard, and arguably not worth what was paid. The garden salad to start was mixed greens with acidic dressing and nuts. Very nice ambiance though.

  We stopped in for a delicious steak dinner after a motorcycle ride. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was fast and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

  With tip, a just a chicken breast on salad (Santa Fe) is over $20. That's just a lot of money for a non-heaping salad. So, the lost star is mostly price related. The other lunch specials looked tasty and had more to offer. The lettuce wraps are super tasty. They can be made with grilled instead of pan fried. Hard for my weight watchers friends to find lunches less than 15 points, when many only get 28 points their whole day. The bathroom was clean, but small/claustrophobic in the stalls as the walls and door are floor to ceiling.
